Brussels -> Luxembourg ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡บย

Last Friday I decided that I’ve seen enough of Brussels, I got up super early that morning. Managed to get myself out of my hotel room and headed to Brussels Noord, the train station. I bought a return ticket for 25โ‚ฌ ๐Ÿ˜… (INSANE HOW CHEAP IT IS!) And hopped on the train ๐Ÿš‚

I walked all over the city of Luxembourg, taking in everything and not believing that I spent 3 hours on a train and then ended up in a different country Just like that!

Notre Dame Cathedral is only a 10

minute walk from the train station ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ

                     The dukes “house” ๐Ÿก

                          Place d’Armes

The streets are beautiful and the shops are incredible! Sadly I wasn’t able to shop a lot๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿผ that’s the shitty thing about travelling alone! I couldn’t carry everything! I was walking around with my camera, bag, shopping bag, pastries etc. Exhausted because of the heat and how much I walked ๐Ÿ˜‚

I also stopped by a restaurant since I was starving and the only thing I managed to eat during the train ride was raspberries๐Ÿ˜ซ at the restaurant I got duck breast with potatoes and season vegetables with pepper sauce on the side! ๐Ÿ˜ I don’t remember the name of the restaurant but I’m planing on writing a post about some of the best restaurants I’ve tried! And this one might be included! So stay tuned!

So in conclusion, on Wednesday I started exploring! It all started with a short flight from Aalborg to Copenhagen. Where I then was stuck at the airport because of a delay with Brussels airlines! The delay had me miss the last train in to the city, so I had to take a cab and ended up almost paying 50โ‚ฌ I let the driver know that according to maps on iPhone, meaning the GPS, the hotel was only 14km away. The c*nt kept saying “no no no, you no understand” He kept saying it’s atleast 17-20km away! It would take 20-25 minutes blah blah.. -.- So I got scammed that easily! We ended up arriving 10 minutes after I got into the car ๐Ÿ™ƒ Even though he tried taking longer and more complicated routes & roads  ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Day 1. Brussels ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ชย

So far so GOOD! The entire day has been amazing! I only wish that Laust was here! I really wish I could share this with him ๐Ÿ˜ฆ But hopefully next time we’ll go somewhere together! ๐Ÿ˜

I started my day at about 8-9 Am where I got ready and then stepped out the door at precisely 10 AM. I walked all the way to Grand Place, I managed to get a hotel right in the city centre for an okay price! Everything else was either too far out or fully booked ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿผ

I snapped a lot of pictures ๐Ÿ˜…

Grand place! (Gigantic !!!) and full of tourists! (Including me ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜‚)

The Grand place is very beautiful! ๐Ÿ˜

I got lost in this city because of its beauty!

After seeing and exploring Grand place I went over to the fountain of Manneken Pis, it’s unknown what the story about the peeing boy is, but there are many tales. There was a big crowd there taking pictures of and with the fountain. It was very hard to get a good shot! But somehow I managed! As a souvenir from that place I got chocolates that are shaped like the peeing boy! ๐Ÿ˜‚

After the peeing boy, I decided to walk to the European Parliament! I walked through Brussels park ๐ŸŒฒ ๐ŸŒณ and I keep falling more and more in love with this place! ๐Ÿ˜

Old statues in the park, this is a very big park by the way. ๐Ÿ˜…

The European Parliament was something else! I couldn’t get in because I was too late for the visit tour, and the next one was way later, and I couldn’t be bothered waiting there! But I saw it! And I took pictures of it! ๐Ÿ˜‚ I saw a bunch of important people, with their guards and police escorts etc. That was something I’ve never seen before, it was intense!

Shortly after I was done there I walked back to the peeing boy! ๐Ÿ˜…

I got myself Belgian waffle with Belgian chocolate! ๐Ÿ˜ SO YUMMY ๐Ÿ˜‹

โ€‹โ€‹
And lastly for dinner I got myself a chicken burger!

This burger was probably the best one I’ve had! Beats every other fried chicken place ๐Ÿ— I got the burger from Hectors Chicken! ๐Ÿ˜ Freshly made! Fast and delicious ๐Ÿ˜‹

That is all for today! I’m looking forward tomorrow’s adventures!

Day 1. Brussels ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ชย

Roaming in Rome ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡นย

I’ve never actually posted about everything I was up to in Rome.. and since I can’t sleep I thought I’d share a few pictures and stories!

About five months ago I got to travel to Rome! It was spontaneous as everything else I do, and it was EXITING!

As I’ve written before, I stayed at Domus Sessoriana, a hotel that used to be a church, but was divided in half, the part I stayed at was still connected to the church. And so the other half of the building was the church. I got to see so many nuns and priests from all over the world ๐ŸŒŽ who came to Rome out of faith. No one realises how big of a deal religion is until they see how it unites people who come from different countries, backgrounds, ethnicities etc.

Anyway, so I got to stay at the top of building, and I had an entire terrace all to myself. Except in the morning. Because that’s where they served breakfast.

And so that was my everyday view, I was a bit far away from where all the action is. But I liked it. At least I could sleep at night! And enjoy the walks to the main centre!

I walked along these streets everyday. And it was never dull. The air was warm but not humid. The people were happy! The ladies looked very stylish and the men were flirty!

It was just as my mother had described it! She warned me about how ‘slick’  Italian men can be and she was right! ๐Ÿ˜‚

On several occasions I got approached by men who thought it was okay to keep walking beside me and keep on talking to me as I didn’t even show an interest and told them to leave me alone. ๐Ÿ˜ก

That one guy actually kept saying how he has multiple girlfriends in different countries and kept saying it’s okay if I went out with him ?? That it’s just the way of life ๐Ÿ˜‚luckily I got away from him when I told him he was a creep! He also kept asking me if he could see/play with my feet ?? And he’d buy me ice cream if I let him! ๐Ÿ˜‚

There were a few other ones standing outside restaurants saying: “For you, everything free!”

The colosseum is breathtaking. From upclose and afar.

Rome has changed me. Every city I’ve been to has. But Rome was something else.

I also got to see Trevi Fountain. The ancient city of Rome had a lot to offer. My legs were sore every night when I got home. I spent my entire days walking. According to my apps I walked about 20-23km a day on average! That’s the most I’ve ever walked!

Spectacular! Sometimes I can’t believe that I have actually been to some of those places! I somehow get so caught up in the “real world” and tend to lose my free spirit. But when I look the pictures I’ve taken I can find myself again.

Ruins from the ancient city. Everything has been preserved. And I can’t wait revisit this place!

I believe that I grow a lot from travelling. That I learn. My mind expands further. I indulge in cultures. I meet new people. I gain experience. And I most definitely enjoy myself.

I remember growing up with a lot of close minded people. The judgemental kind. And I’ve always noticed how I was different. Not trying to be cocky or anything. But they are so put off by everyone and everything. And they believed they were the best. And they looked down on different cultures and values. Their minds were & are so closed off they couldn’t see genuine happiness. They had to put other people down so they could feel superior? But seriously? They are missing out. They’ll always miss out, on life amongst other things. Who they were 6-7 years ago. Is exactly who they are now, and who they’ll always be.

I’m grateful for everything I’ve experienced and for all the amazing people in my life.

I’m very exited for what’s coming next!

Roaming in Rome ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡นย

Don’t!ย

From my experience in travelling throughout my life.. being 19 ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ I’ve learnt a thing or two. Having been to about 16 countries so far I know it’s not a lot! But I have made a list for you guys of donts! I should be making one about does but to be honest this seems more fun and it’s more important to know what to avoid! I’ll make sure I make a list of does! As well.

I won’t be going through every country or city, I’ll just bring up important things I’ve picked up along the way!

  • When travelling always make sure you are not over packing! I tend to do that quite a lot and trust me! It’s no good! You won’t be able to shop and you’ll be carrying unnecessary items making your luggage heavier than it should be!
  • I know that you can’t actually predict the weather so you might be worried about what to bring! But there’s this thing called weather apps and websites! But don’t look at just one, make sure you browse through atleast 2-3 to see what the weather is more likely to be!
  • Don’t listen to what anyone suggests is a ‘good‘ restaurant. Go out and explore! Not everyone shares the same taste! And if you always end up going to restaurants or diners or cafes that people suggest for you, you’ll be missing out on a bunch of other things!
  • When in France! Don’t bother actually trying to speak to anyone in any other language then French! In Paris it’s more likely that they speak English, but forget about other parts such as Marseille!
  • Don’t take out all of your money in cash! Most European countries use cards! And it’s a waste to take out all of it!  But if you’re in areas that aren’t city centre type you’ll need some cash! Because some places avoid cards for tax purposes.
  • Don’t purchase souvenirs at airports or malls. They’re always more expensive and you can always get it cheaper from random souvenir shops located all over town. I often find the ones run by Asians the cheapest!
  • Don’t expect people to be kind! I’ve had run ins with people in different areas that are sick and tired of tourists! And they actually say it! Although tourism is what is helping their country, that’s all they live off!
  • Don’t be rude! People are sometimes unpleasant but to make sure your journey doesn’t turn sour, try to keep up the good spirits and enjoy yourself!
  • Don’t waste time on people who stop you to talk when you’re walking! Even if it’s only for a signature or if they want 1โ‚ฌ.  Most of them are frauds! And only want to see how much cash you have on to later jump you!
  • Don’t neglect your bag! Even if you’re at a restaurant! Make sure all your things are visible to you!
  • Don’t allow people to trick you into cutting queues for attractions etc.

Hope this is helpful! I know it’s quite short! And there is so much more!! I’ll make sure I post more about travel later on๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

Arrivederci ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿผ ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡นย

This spontaneous trip to Rome was brilliant!! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

I got to see everything! I did almost everything by foot! Because honestly the best way to really explore is by walking everywhere! You really never know what you can stumble upon! โœŒ๐Ÿผ

On the first day I went and saw the fountain and the coliseum. And ofcourse I tried the famous Italian Gelato๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

The following day I took the train far out to the beach for a swim! I was the only one swimming ๐Ÿ˜‚ Yes Italians don’t care about what the weather actually is, if it’s a month in the  winter then they’ll dress for it! The sun could be shining and it could be 20-35 Celsius! But if it’s in October-March! Then it’s winter ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ญ so it was kinda embarrassing to be the only one with a bikini on, but it didn’t stop me! Later on I needed to get back to the station that would take me back to Rome, but the “bus” I’d taken to get to this place think it was Fengene?? Didn’t go anymore, and no one knew when it would come back to pick up anyone๐Ÿ˜‚ So I got a ride with a lovely Italian family! I was terrified that I wouldn’t be able to get home! ๐Ÿ˜‚  But luckily I made it back to the train statio! While on the train I decided that I wanted to see more of Rome! It was still early during the day, so I went ahead and got off right by the Vatican City! I went on a tour with a group of people, saw the museum(s) which used to be the home(s) of past popes! And got learn a lot about the history of everything!

And again most images are on my camera! And I’ve not been able to upload anything just yet!
So I will have a few other posts made about Paris and Rome later on this week!

And honestly I don’t know about next weekend but I’m definitely going to do my best and not go anywhere for once! I’ve already got 2 other trips booked this month so I really need a weekend at home ๐Ÿก ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

I should I shouldn’t ย I should I shouldn’t ….ย

Oh boy there are way too many things I should be doing! First off I should be sleeping??? I packed in such a hurry about 5 minutes ago, because I’ve been postponing everything! And now I’m more stressed than ever! ๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿผ I need to be up in 6 hours! ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ญ I hate morning flights! But they’re good because then I’ll get to see more of the city etc and gain an extra day obviously.. I ramble and complain a lot on here! Hopefully I’ll be in a better mood tomorrow/this weekend BECAUSE ROME AWAITS!! ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

I should I shouldn’t ย I should I shouldn’t ….ย
